11 Days Cricket Tournament Closing Ceremony In Delhi

This cricket tournament was organised for the 6th time by Bal Bhavan International School, Dwarka, New Delhi, in the memory of Sh. B. K. Gupta, one of the founder members of Bal Bhavan International School to motivate students and provide a platform to Realise excellence in sports. The tournament had been arranged for the students to learn about the right spirit of competition and to acknowledge the potential, hard work and determination that the players have.
The tournament had its opening ceremony on the 11th January 2017, 9:00 am in the morning whereas 21stJanuary,2017 marked its closing. The closing ceremony was attended by imperial management members, Mr. V. K. Sharma, Mr. Dipesh Gupta Manager group of Bal Bhavan Schools, Principal Mr. Kunal Gupta and Vice Principal Ms. Jaspreet Kaur. Mr. Vinod Sharma Sr. Coach at Delhi Daredevils and DD Sports Team Mr. Sanjeev Soni, Mr. Manoj Dutt and Mr. Sushil Kumar Ji graced the occasion with their presence.
It was 11 days tournament and had 18 teams from all over Delhi and 2 teams from outside Delhi to be a part of it. It was a pleasure and an absolute delight to witness students with such talent. The confidence of the students was actually the highlight. The concluding match after eleven days was held between the home team and Modern School, Barakhamba Road. Where Modern School after winning the toss chose to field first and batting team under the captainship of Yash Dhull gave the target of 136 runs in 19.4 overs. Shubham Bisht by hitting 4 sixes and 1 four scored 33 runs on 17 balls. Also took a wicket and not only declared as Man of the Match but also Man of the Series. Modern School were all out on 92 runs. Gantavya Motwani 30 off 25 balls and Akshit Aggarwal 24 off 33 balls tried their best to change the game but they were unable to make it.Ankit Chauhan’s electrifying fielding led him to bag best fielder of the tournament. With the help of our tremendous performers,the BBIS team after a year’s gap brought the trophy back home.Varun Yadav from Vidya Jain, Rohini declared as best Batsman, whereas Best Bowler, Aryan Sharma and Best Wicket Keeper, Ritwik Joshi were declared from Modern School, Barakhamba Road. One special award by the authorities was also presented this year to Naman Wassan from Bal Bharti Public School, Rohini.
Bal Bhavan Group of Schools was absolutely happy to present laurels to the most deserving ones.The school hope that players and coaches will remembertheir experience here at this field for the rest of their lives.
