These Muslim Hijabi Women Setting Goals In Hip-Hop
Muslim culture restricts many acts which women praise. It is difficult to go against the culture which do not allow such acts. HIJABI is a veil traditionally worn by Muslim women in the presence of adult males outside of their family, which usually covers head and chest.
Two young women Muneera and Sukina are on their way finding their place in the musical world through hip hop. They both are having similar dreams just like other women. Both musicians are of the Afro-Caribbean background and converted to Islam in 2005.
These two Muslim women are joining other Muslim women across the world to explore their desire. This is a universal story about their friendship, love and idealism. Muneera and Sukina are Poetic Pilgrimage. They are Britain’s first female Muslim hip-hop duo. They both belong to that society where women have to dress modestly covering everything except the face, elbows and knees.
They have been searching for the ways to fullfil their desire and now they got the exact track, completing their new hip-hop duo they have proven that dreams can be achieved in any condition. Muneera and Sukina continue challenging their attitudes and beliefs within the Muslim community and also with the Western society.Keeping in mind their culture these both ladies are setting new goals to their future.
