Some unconventional stress busters…
Feeling a tad bit dizzy from all those deep breaths you’ve been asked to take? Muscles still sore from all those awkward yoga poses ? Well, after a long dull pathetic day at the office, you got to do what needs to be done to relax and bust the stress. While exercise, funny videos, yoga etc might do their bit, here are 5 rather unique ways to help you unwind and relax
Cook something!
Cooking might seem like an effort in the kitchen and it sure is if you’re a homemaker expected to cook the meals of the day, but if you aren’t one, then cooking might help you relax a bit. Think, innovate and experiment a bit with your food. Try a new recipe or add something wacky to an already existing recipe. If it turns out good, you’ll be extremely overjoyed in your own little way, having tasted the fruits of your sweaty kitchen labour! Then once you take a ton of pictures, post it on facebook & instagram bombard it with hash tags, sit back and enjoy the compliments that follow…
Get involved with a social cause…
If work life is mundane & routine, then you need to have something to look forward to in general, because Monday mornings sure ain’t your thing. To get your mind off the boring tribulations of work, find an active citizen group or an NGO or any non – profit organization that works for a cause you believe in. There’s so much more potential within yourself you never realize you had, when you do something pro bono. Working for the good of society, leaves you with a deep sense of satisfaction, not quite similar to your paycheck at the end of the month, but one that’s so pure, you can’t put a price on it.
#3 Plan a vacation
While some of you might not have the time to actually go on a vacation, there is a great deal of joy that can be derived with just planning one! That’s right. Just plan one. Whether you’re a mountain kinda guy or beach bum, think of a place, get online, compare flight tickets prices, check out places to see, restaurants to eat and all the fun things to do in your imaginary destination. But don’t make a habit of this. Make sure you actually do go on a vacation once in a while.
Befriend a dog
Spinach gives you iron! Carrots are rich in vitamin A. Walnuts for Vitamin E, and Dogs are rich in love! Not everyone’s a dog lover. In fact most people remain indifferent when it comes to dogs & pets. But what they’re missing out on is the fact that dogs are always oozing with love potential. Here’s how you tap that potential. Once you back from a long unsatisfactory day of work, take a few minutes out to spend with a dog. In India you’re never too far from a dog, find a stray, slowly approach him or her with a pack of tiger or glucose biscuits. Sit the biscuits down and watch them eat. Once the tail starts to wag, you’ve made a friend for life. Pet them, scratch them, cuddle up, play with them. It’s all free and this makes for a great stress buster.
