Officially opened on 29th December 1981, currently one of the largest transportation hubs in Southeast Asia, Singapore Changi Airport is rated the World’s Best Airport 2017 by Air Help. This has been rewarded with this rating for the fifth consecutive year. This is also one of the busiest airports for international passengers. Located in Changi, Singapore, it covers 17.2 kilometers on 13 square kilometers of site.

The airport handles 59 million passengers every year and even after all such traffic, it is ranked 8.8/10 for punctuality. Last year, less than 1% of all flights from the airport were delayed or cancelled for more than 3 hours. In case of services, it is ranked 10/10 for quality of services. The overall experience of the passengers according to opinions on twitter is said to be 6/10, that is the highest than any other airport.
Each terminal of the Singapore Changi Airport is filled with attracting venues. Terminal 1 has its relaxing aroma with rooftop Cactus Garden with over 40 species of cactus and succulents from Africa and America, a Rooftop Swimming Pool with Jacuzzi where one can enjoy watching planes taking off from the runway, the Water Lily Garden featuring lilies in natural aquatic garden environment, added with the Kinetic Rain with dance of polished copper raindrops.
Terminal 2 is known for its nonstop entertainment hub, with Orchid Garden, Sunflower Garden, Enchanted Garden and the Entertainment Deck that is a nonstop multimedia entertainment centre with everything from Xbox 360 and Kinect Stations to a movie theatre.
Terminal 3 at the Singapore Changi Airport is called the ‘Green Terminal’ with its eco friendly look. It has natural skylight and gardens with 200 species of leaves, the most attractive world’s first Butterfly Garden in an airport. It has a movie theater, Koi Pond with beautiful fishes and the world tallest rid at the Slide @T3. The slide is 12 meters high that on its way down reaches to a speed of 6 meters per second.
Terminal 4, updated in 2017, is designed with innovations that can redefine the travel experience of the visitors. The Central Galleria has the sense of space and natural light that gives the warm Singapore welcome. The Double Volume Shop Fronts and Heritage Zone with cultural and heritage experience have taken shopping to a different way with pleasing shop fronts that is a ‘Welcome-To-Singapore’ feeling. The Changi Airport not only impresses the visitors by its looks, but its offers a Self-Service Kiosk that makes the travel experience faster and more seamless.
There’s more to come soon, as the recent reports say that the airport will soon open an amusement park-style experience till 2019, naming it Jewel. This will be a new building outside terminal 1 with 300 restaurants and shops including major Singapore indoor garden called Forest Valley and a 40 meter tell waterfall called Rain Vortex.
