There is good news out there for all those facebook freaks! There is an even more shorter way of expressing your feelings using GIFS \to comment on FB posts. Reports are emerging the company is testing a new feature that lets you comment with GIFs. Of course, it’s not the first time GIFs have made it to the platform, we’ve been able to use them on whatsapp, instagram, facebook as posts since 2015.
However, Facebook has finally realized that people most often comment with emoji rather than actual text. GIFs are already a vital addition to other major messaging apps and social platforms like Messenger, Twitter, and Apple’s iMessage, not to mention the infamous Tumblr.
“Everyone loves a good GIF and we know that people want to be able to use them in comments,” a Facebook spokesperson said to media outlets. “So we’re about to start testing the ability to add GIFs to comments and we’ll share more when we can, but for now we repeat that this is just a test.”
Facebook is expected to begin testing comment GIFs sometime next week with a section of users. It’ll work similarly to how it functions in Messenger, with a search bar to quickly locate what you need. Whether or not that officially rolls out in the future to all users in anyone’s guess, but it’s probably a safe bet at this point.
