Cristiano Ronaldo won FIFA’s player of the year award for the fourth time on Monday, beating his old rival Lionel Messi. Ronaldo also won the Ballon d’Or in December, with both honours recognition for success in the Champions League with Real and Euro 2016 with Portugal.
And the one thing that turned most of the eyes while Ronaldo made an entry was his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez. While Rodriguez and Ronaldo have been linked after being spotted together a number of times, it is the first occasion on which they have made a public appearance as a couple.
And the other starts who joined the ceremony were Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane who attended the awards alongside wife Veronique. And Juventus defender Dani Alves also came with partner Joana Sanz.
Sergio Ramos also came to the event with TV presenter wife Pilar Rubio. Marcelo appeared on the green carpet with wife Clarisse Alves and his son Enzo.

Messi did not attend after being pulled out hours before the ceremony by his club Barcelona to prepare for club match on Wednesday.
Ronaldo said: ‘This achievement is incredible on a personal level. Unbelievable, I will never forget this year. I am very happy. Thank you everyone, I don’t really have anything else to add. The awards I think speak for themselves. ‘I’m just very happy. I’m sorry some people from Barcelona aren’t here, but that’s understandable.’
The awards were determined using a system that split the voting into two pools: one that included the captains and coaches of national teams from around and another that incorporated votes from fans and media.
