CSIR ranked 12th best government institute
According to the reports of the prestigious scimago institutions rankings the council of scientific and industrial research (CSIR) has been ranked on no. 12th in the best government institute in the world. Out of 746 institutions, France’s National Centre for Scientific Research was ranked first followed by Chinese Academy of Science, China. The institutes were ranked by a prestigious Scimago Institutions Rankings that ranks institutes based on the research performance, innovation and social impact.
CSIR is the only Indian organization to have found a place among the top 100 global institutions. The Scimago rankings is a classification of academic and research related institutions ranked by a composite indicator that combines three different sets of indicators based on research performance, innovation outputs and societal impact measured by their web visibility.
About CSIR-
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) was established in 1942. It is an autonomous body and the largest research and development organisation in India. It runs 37 laboratories and 39 field stations or extension centres spread across the nation. It is mainly funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
