Fairoz Khan, New President of National Students’ Union of India

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi who is in charge of frontal organization, appointed a screening committee to list out various deserving candidates for the president desk of the all India NSUI (National Students’ Union of India). It’s believed Rahul Gandi himself interviewed the selected candidates and in consultation to the screening committee, on June 12, 2017, selected Mr. Fairoz Khan as the National President of NSUI.

“Congress President Sonia Gandhi has accorded her approval to the appointment of Fairoz Khan as NSUI President for a period of two years with immediate effect,” a statement from AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi said.

Fairoz Khan is from a remote village in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. While in his wordings with Hindustan times, he said “I come from a village which is still devoid of electricity and proper roads. I come from a family with no political background. My father is a junior engineer in public health engineering department and my mother a housewife.”

Fairoz has 3 younger siblings and is mainly from Pogal Paristan. He then shifted to Ramban for his higher education. He then pursued BSc from Bhaderwah Degree College and later got into politics. He has studied law from Jammu University in 2012 and got his masters in political science. Currently he’s perusing post graduation diploma in human rights and duties from Jammu University’s law school.

He has been NSUI national general for 4 years and also was the first to get elected as the National Delegate of NSUI from J&K. Fairoz khan will be taking oath on June 22, 2017 at the NSUI office premises at New Delhi.
