Government decided to give free education till class 10th
In order to revamp the Indian education system, the Union government has recently decided to provide free education to students studying in all state-run schools across the nation up till class 10.
The Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry has planned to refurbish the old system of free education under the new plan; the secondary education system will be changed to ensure universal education. At the e-launch of UNICEF’s The State of the World’s Children Report- 2016 on Tuesday, Dr SC Khuntia, secretary, school education and literacy said, “We have formed a committee in the HRD ministry to evaluate the education for classes 9 and 10, which should be universalized”
Meanwhile, under the present education system, free and compulsory education is given to students only till class 8.
