UP government gives green signal to Bennett University

Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik on Sunday cleared an ordinance for setting up of Bennett University. The university, set up in Greater Noida, will have 13,500 students and 750 faculties at full strength. Bennett University has tied up with several renowned international institutions.
“The Uttar Pradesh government is keen to invite eminent institutions and groups to set up educational skill-based institutions in the state so that youth get better education, which will open up opportunities for jobs. We have made policies to that effect. The coming of Bennett University to Uttar Pradesh is a welcome step in this direction,” said Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Bennett University has tied up with several renowned international institutions.These include Georgia Institute of Technology (US), which will partner it in designing and delivering a worldclass engineering curriculum, and edX–set up by Harvard and MIT–which will provide massive online open courses (MOOCs). Bennett and edX will also explore and test innovative approaches to learning, and support and train the faculty to create and offer next-generation online and blended learning courses.
Bennett University is also a founding member of The Babson Collaborative, launched by the US-based Babson College, globally recognised for its leadership in entrepreneurship education. The partnership will set up the Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and “The Hatchery” –an incubator for startups–on the Bennett campus.
