H-1B visa: Trump to seek changes in visa program to encourage hiring Americans

US President Donald Trump is scheduled to sign the executive order that would tighten the process of issuing H-1B visas, the most sought –after by Indian and professionals . Trump is scheduled to travel to Milwaukee in Wisconsin. The home state of House of Representative of Speaker Paul Rayan briefed Trump will use the “buy American and hire American” order to make changes in government practices to increase the hiring of American employee more to fill high-skilled jobs.

President  Donald  attempt that order  to carry out his “ American First “ campaign  pledges  to reform  immigration policies and encourage purchases of American products.

The order he will sign on Tuesday behind that the stated purpose of creating” hire wages and hire employment rates for workers in the United States”.

H -1B visas are intended for foreign nationals in “specialty” occupations that generally require higher education, which according to US Citizenship and Immigration Services includes, on the other hand it is not limited to, scientist, engineers or computer programmers.

Apart from the tight procedure of H-1B visas government uses a lottery to award 65,000 visas every year and randomly distributes another 20,000 to graduate student workers.

the number of application for H-1B  visas fell to  1,99,000 this year from 2,36,000 In 2016 according to US Citizenship and Immigration Services
