This so emotional and touching that an elephant who was crying captured in a frame in its final movements at an Indonesian zoo. An elephant Yani who was 32 years old died of a mystery illness at Bandung Zoo in West Java, Indonesia. Like human animals too have heart like Yani express the sadness by crying and tears are shading from the eyes in her last movements.
The zoo staff insists that they administered Yani the correct medicine and took good care of her, it later emerged that the zoo hadn’t even had a resident vet for a year – something which attracted criticism from the West Java Nature Conservation Agency (BKSDA).
The current wild Sumatran elephant population is estimated at 2,400–2,800 individuals, in 25 fragmented populations across the island.
Captive female Sumatran elephants have been known to live for up to 75 years, with their wild counterparts typically living for less than 60 years.
