Meet Int-Ball, an adorable camera drone who is the new companion to the astronauts on The International Space Station. It is a robotic spherical camera with its monochrome paint job and blue circular eyes that floats with other crew. It can move autonomously and can be controlled by its operators from Earth.
Int-Ball has been of a good help to the other astronauts as it has relieved the crew members from their photography job which used to consume 10% of their working hours. It has given them more time to concentrate on the experiments. The Int-ball was sent ISS on June 4th via SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
The Int-Ball is 15cm in diameter with a cube shaped brain and weighs 1kg. It can record images from any angle and it also helped the researchers on the ground to view the ISS crew and help in experiments. The camera is located in between the two eyes of the drone so that the astronauts can identify what its looking at. More and more updates will be given to the drone so it can be more helpful to the astronauts.
