He says life is his inspiration and he just takes it as it comes. Singer and composer Darshan Raval, in the city for a music show, talks to Youthens News about his journey to the singing world.
Two years ago, a teenage boy released his own composition ‘Meri Mohabbat’ for the promo of the reality shows that became quite the buzzword amongst youngsters within short span. It was a perfect example of the fact that talent cannot be hidden in dark. Ask him how it came his way ,and this recently turned 21 singer tells us he was always sure, what he wanted from his life.
“I always wanted to be a singer. The reality show ‘India’s Raw Star’ showed me the way to do it,” told Darshan who recently lent his voice for retro love song ‘Jab Tum Chaho’ of Salman Khan’s upcoming film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo .
The song revolves around a guy apologizing to his girl in an amusing way. It features fine music filled with fun and a very different voice of Darshan. “It is a very mature song and I could not afford to sing in regular style. I have done lot of variations with my singing to suit its requirement,” informed Darshan while sharing that he has five more songs to come with music composer Himesh Reshmiya upcoming Bollywood films.
Not only this, he is also working on solo song slated to release by next year. It is a melodious single video song which will be shot at beautiful locations of London. Ask him if he has any plan to launch an album, he quickly point us to the rising trend of solo songs.
“People do not have time to listen to an entire album. The time duration of each song has also reduced from six to three minutes. We singers have to prove ourselves with one quick song these days,” he informed. And once in, we have to come up with the new one soon that they can connect with. “This is why I mostly compose simple life related songs that I can personally feel. I write what I see and feel to make it perfect,” beamed Darshan.
Dressed casually in his denim and t-shirt, he looked effortlessly stylish yet comfortable- leading to the question, what is his style statement that leaves girls in awe. “I keep my style simple just like my music. I follow the mantra of be comfortable yet classy,” revealed Darshan while sharing with us his rules of style-
It is very important to be comfortable in what you wear. I mostly opt for comfortable denim and casual t-shirt during the shows. To add a unique factor to my outfit, I prefer bright jackets mostly by Zara.
Shoes define personality of a man. I am crazy for shoes and love experimenting with them. I like designer, hand painted and colourful shoes that make me feel good and confident.
I am very fond of accessories. I throw a lot of them amongst public during the shows. When it comes to my personal collection, I wear a wrist band and chain all the time.
I am very specific about the choice of perfumes. I am very loyal to my favourite brand Mont Blanc for its balanced and rejuvenating fragrance.
