Sandeep Kaur AKA “Bombshell Bandit”, who ended up in Jail, in reality, faced gruesome complications in life. Presently behind the bars of US jail for the case of bank robbery, let’s peep into some of her real stories.

Born in Chandigarh on November 11, 1989, Kaur was born in a traditional Punjabi family. When she was just 7, her mother with two of her children shifted to the US to join her father. The US just to sound, her parents adhered to typical traditional upbringing style for their children’s where the use of cell phone and TV was not allowed and no much friends were listed. With restricted homely surroundings she never really merged into the community.After the brutal attack of 9/11 in 2001, Kaur said that she and her brother both were racially abused and mocked in schools and where everyone’s target and hence she hated school ended up skipping the classes.

 When she was 14, Sandeep mother was hospitalized due to severe illness which instantly inspired Kaur to become a nurse and by the age of 19, she labeled as a licensed nurse.

Kaur had her first appointment with a quick buck in the year 2008, where she received a massive amount of 2,00,000 dollars from the stock business. But, only a soothing event ever happened because the fortune turned upside down when Kaur with her cousin Amardeep went to a party at a casino to celebrate her 21st birthday on a grand level. Just to cherish the happiness of the day both the cousins fly down to Las Vegas. She started gambling her fortune with dollars and favorably earned 4000 dollars in the first game.

Hopes raised high, fortune favoring the female fully, luck loving the lady, Kaur had no stopping initially and was hooked completely into gambling. She quit the nursing job and switched completely into gambling as a full-time watcher and player. And soon luck came loathing and money left her home and she was tagged as a loser.

60,000 dollars was the mammoth amount she lost in gambling in 2011, Kaur confessed to her family.

Yes, in an interview to BBC, she said that it was in 2011 that she confessed to her family for the first time that she lost a big amount of nearly 60,000 dollars in gambling.Creditors were chasing Kaur and her family after the gigantic loss terminating her at Union City, California from Las Vegas with a completely new address. Kaur started to work and picked up a 96-hour shift to clear her debts.

Realizing daughters gambling addiction and degrading career Mother Kaur decided to arrange her marriage. Kaur rejected many homecoming proposals and ultimately by September 2013, tied a knot with her choice of man. Now, this lucky lady was living on 1000 dollars per week allowances from her big heart husband. But Gambling googly failed again and lost that money too and the marriage ended by April 2014.

Post marriage end in 2014, she was cornered up by two loan sharks and was threatened to repay their credits of 35,000 dollars within a deadline of just 2 days. She was threatened and given a choice of either paying up or working for them. “They said, ‘You can rob a bank. Go rob a house, do this do that, we need the money.’ They tried to give me a gun,” Sandeep said.This was the crucial point when she optioned for her first bank robbery with a successful escape of 21,200 dollars at Bank of the West branch in Valencia, California.

Now came the instances of the second bank robbery where she frightened the bank employees that she will explode the bank with a bomb if they do not hand over cash. And finally, she earned the badge of “Bombshell Bandit”.The chain of robbery then continued with credits she acquired was 1,978 dollars and 8,000 dollars. When finally she was caught in the US after robbing a bank in the city of St. George.

She was charged with 20 years in federal prison on each of the four robberies, besides a $2, 50,000 fines for each. Her lawyer Windward pleaded that she had been a sufferer of her “upbringing”, following which the judge later sentenced her to 66 months in jail and ordered her to pay back every dollar of the money she stole, as per Indian Express report.
