According to researchers of Pennsylvania study, bald men are perceived as more bold, attractive, confident and dominating. “Choosing to dispense with one’s hair is arguably a form of nonverbal behavior, a form of expression which communicates information about the self otherwise difficult to observe,” researchers from The University of Pennsylvania, were quoted as saying by Britain’s Independent. The researchers also suggested that bald men might be more elusive than those with typical mops.
For the research, three tests were conducted by the operators among the college students, both men and women were the jury of rating the men images according to dominance, attractiveness and confidence they pull off in images.
First study test revealed that men with bald looks scored numbers high in terms of dominance nature they display as compared to the same men displaying hair shows on their head. In the second study, men whose hair were digitally removed were perceived as more dominant, taller, and stronger than their authentic selves. And with the third study, it notified that men suffering to frequent hair loss issues can boost up their interpersonal standing with complete bald look and they should shave off their head.
Though test and study varies from person to person but indeed this revelation by researchers may help many to reverse the effect of trauma caused due to hair loss into something more confidence and alluring.
So instead of spending billions each year trying to reverse or cure their hair loss, the counterintuitive prescription of this research to men experiencing male pattern baldness is to shave their heads, the researchers emphasized. Doing so will increase their interpersonal standing on a host of dominance-related traits, including their potential for leadership, they said.
