NEET results declared maximum no. of girls top in examination
As, the NEET examination results are out, the results states that maximum no. of girls qualified in the examination the counseling will be begin soon. The results for NEET entrance examination held for the 2016 session was declared yesterday. Though there were 11,058 males compared with 8,266 female applicants in the top 15%, girls have outnumbered boys in qualifying the examination. A total of 4,09,477 candidates out of which 2,26,049 girls, 1,83,424 boys and four transgenders cleared the examination. One transgender candidate was in the top 15%.
The CBSE also released a list of top performing candidates as per which Het Shah secured the first rank scoring 685 marks out of 720, while Ekansh Goyal (682) came second and Nikhil Bajiya (678) stood third. NEET-1 was conducted at 1,040 centres in 52 cities all over India and abroad and NEET-2 was conducted at 739 centres in 56 cities in India. It also gave details as per which both in NEET-1 and NEET-2, 26 candidates were identified using unfair practices in the examination. These candidates have been debarred permanently from appearing in the medical entrance examination conducted by CBSE, the statement added.
Before declaring the results, CBSE hosted OMR answer sheets of all the candidates on website for their information and make challenges if they found any discrepancy in the responses made by them, the release said. Also, the answer keys were put up on website for challenges. All the challenges received by CBSE were duly addressed before announcing the results.
