Obama Meets 6-Year-Old After His Letter Offering To Help A Syrian Refugee Went Viral
Remember the small boy who wrote letter to President Obama for bringing the Syrian refugee boy Omran Daqdeesh after the air strikes in the town of Aleppo has finally met POTUS. Alex Myteberi, dressed in a dapper new suit, was wide-eyed as he shook hands with Obama for the first time in the Oval Office last week.
Alex Myteberi, wrote letter in august after horrifying picture of Omran Daqdeesh sitting expressionless in an ambulance in a terror-stricken Syria went viral on the internet. He asked president to bring the child home so that he can with his family in Edgemont, New York.
His letter goes like “‘Remember the boy who was picked up by the ambulance in Syria?’ Alex wrote in his letter to Obama. ‘Can you please go get him and bring him to our home? Park in the driveway or on the street and we will be waiting for you guys with flags, flowers, and balloons.’
He said he would teach Omran English, invite him to birthday parties and share his toys. ‘We will give him a family and he will be our brother,’ Alex wrote.”
Alex met to president with his family parents and litter sister Catherine. Alex was dressed up in a brand new suit for the occasion and was very excited to meet the man he had so much to say to.
Obama said to Alex “I liked what you wrote so much that i ended up reading it to everybody. You being so nice, and kind, hopefully makes other people think the same way. So i was very proud of you.”
‘It was an emotional and amazing surprise. Alex loved the moments with the president,’ his mother Valbona Myteberi told The Journal News.
