Salman Khan: India’s Goodwill Ambassador at Rio Olympics
Superstar Salman Khan will be representing India in the 2016 Olympics to be held in Rio. He has been nominated as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Indian Contingent.
India will be represented by names like Kavita Raut, Sanjeev Rajput, Mary Kom, Jitu Rai, Yogeshwar Dutt, Hardeep, SSP Chwrasia and Dipa Karmarkar.
Though an official statement from the star is yet to be received. According to a tweet by ANI, the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ actor is going to be the Goodwill Ambassador representing India in the Rio Olympics. ANI tweeted, “Prominent Bollywood actor Salman Khan to be the Goodwill Ambassador for Indian contingent at #RioOlympics2016.”

This is the first time that a Bollywood superstar has been chosen to as a Goodwill Ambassador for the games. Salman is currently busy shooting for ‘Sultan,’ a sports-drama, based on one of India’s oldest sports, wrestling.
The official countdown to Rio de Janeiro Olympics 2016 began on Thursday, 21 April when the torch was lit at the site of the ancient Games in Olympia. A 15 week journey would commence on 5th August, being the opening ceremony in Rio de Janeiro.
