Despite being just three years old, clever Isabelle Solly had the wherewithal to raise the alarm after finding her mum Kay on the floor, unconscious. With her dad away at work, brave Isabelle took matters into her own, tiny, hands and called 999 - and clearly explained had happened and that she needed an ambulance for her mummy.Kids these days are amazing and everyone has got something amazing to do that always leaves us with no words. They always thrill us by their actions. This is the story of a three-year-old girl. She has been commended for her “brave actions”, after she called 999 when her mum collapsed. Isabelle Solly didn’t panic, explaining to the call handler that her mum Kay was ‘not feeling well’ after falling to the floor at the family home in Snodland, Kent.

Isabelle Solly, three, realised something was wrong with her mum, Kay, when she saw her fall to the floor in July. With her dad away at work, she bravely called the emergency number and clearly explained had happened and that she needed an ambulance for her mummy.

Emergency services have released an audio clip of the emergency call after inviting the family to Paddock Wood Make Ready Centre, where Isabelle was given a recognition certificate for her bravery. In the call, Isabelle explained what had happened, answered questions and said they needed an ambulance. With dad Chris away at work, quick-thinking Isabelle picked up her mum’s phone to call for paramedics.

Paramedic Matt Cooper, who arrived at the scene, said: “It would have been quite scary for a child but she did extremely well staying on the phone until we arrived.” Isabelle’s mum, Kay, regained consciousness, and tests discovered nothing serious was wrong with her.

Isabelle clearly described what had happened, answered all the questions she could and remained calm. Two ambulance cars were dispatched to the scene with ambulance Technician Ross Orpin arriving first, closely followed by Paramedic Matt Cooper. Mr Orpin said: “Both Matt and I were astonished at what this little girl had done for her mum. Luckily at this point Isabelle’s mum had regained consciousness and was able to open the door to us.

Busy mum of three, Kay, who also had her six-month-old baby son Jack with her in the house, said: “It was just a normal busy morning; I couldn’t have foreseen anything like this happening. Isabelle received her certificate in the presence of her proud parents, grandparents Dave and Frances and Jack. As a special treat, she was shown round an ambulance and tested out the blue lights and tail lift.
brave-3-yearGrandmother Frances said: “It was a wonderful experience for Isabelle and she will have lots to tell when she is next at pre-school. The certificate will get a special place in her new bedroom which she will move into soon. We all had a lovely day.”
