English is the dominant business language and it has become almost necessity for people to speak English if they are to enter global work face, research from all over the world shows that cross-border business communication is most often conducted in English. Sitting in the classroom and studying tricky grammar is not always learning English. There are number of ways to improve your understanding of the language, many of which can actually be a lot of fun. And if you are keen to improve your English then consider some of these handy tips to get you on your way.
Watch Television and Films in English
You can learn English by watching the Britain and the USA’s best TV shows and films in the world with subtitles so that you can read along and listen at the same time. You can also listen to English radio stations and find plenty of listening sources on the internet. Even you can put the English subtitles on your own television programmes so that you can read along with them English and make the translations as you go.
Speak, speak, speak!
Be confident and speak as often as possible to as many people as you possibly can! Don’t hesitate. More practice will make you better and more confident in your pronunciation and vocabulary. Speaking is a skill like learning a musical instrument or new sport- the only way you can get good is to actually do it!
Use Technology:
Smartphone can be a powerful tool for learning languages. Record yourself speaking then listen back to see how your English sounds to other people.
Listen:
Listen to news bulletin and songs in English to listen to the pronunciation of words. This is the way by which you can learn new words and expressions. More listening will help to more learning. Make friends with English speakers or other learning to speak English and compare notes. Talk about things that you have learnt and exchange ideas.

Anything you enjoy doing, make sure you do it and communicate it in English. Using English to talk about things you enjoy will make practicing a positive experience.
Have a Debate:
Have debate with your friends on all the topics that interest you. Try to use as much vocabulary as you can to get your point across and listen to the other arguments carefully so you can argue with them effectively.

Online dictionaries contains audio examples so you can check your pronunciation and there are lots of great dictionary apps that you can take everywhere in your Smartphone. Make sure that you have not become too reliant on these tools, though.
Be Realistic:
Its extremely common for language learners to want to better their English at an unrealistic pace. Set yourself objectives but be genuine in what you can achieve.
