Earlier, when someone got sick in Uber driver Curtis Preston’s cab, it cost him $140 to get the car cleaned. Though Uber compensated him with $150 but he lost that night of work. Since then, he is always ready against drunk or sick passengers.

Soon he realized that Uber always compensates drivers whose vehicles are damaged by passengers and also covers the cost of getting the car cleaned. So, he decided that if he would do this work by himself, he could keep that cleaning fess as make some extra money.

Now, he carries medical gloves, cleaning solution, a portable wet vacuum cleaner and air fresheners in his grey Toyota Prius which he runs on streets of San Diego. And rather than ignoring the drunken heads, he accepts them with enthusiasm. He doesn’t look for drunken passengers but he gets good passenger at the time of bar closing. He also realized that most of them at that hour have weak stomach.

Earlier Uber used to charge $250 to passengers as vomit fee, but now it has been changed between $25 and $150. The driver has to click multiple pictures and email them to Uber. Uber then evaluate the damage and then compensated the driver. But still the firm doesn’t give attention to the time lost by the driver. It often costs them $50 in lost fares.

Preston believes he has developed enough experience into this, that now even though anyone lose their stomach in the car, he needs to find  gas stations, and in 10 minutes he is ready to go. His $40 investment has helped him make $1500 in cleaning last year.
