Yet another defeat for Pak: India beat Pakistan to enter U-18 Asia Cup hockey final
Amidst the ongoing tussle between the two countries, India and Pakistan, India beated arch rivals Pakistan by 3-1 to move to the final of U-18 Asia Cup hockey and set up a final clash to Bangladesh.
India got off to a positive start with an early strike and went on to increase their lead on the brink of the half-time. India continued their momentum in the second half scoring their third goal of the match.
The two teams has tasted quite success in the past as India having been twice—winners in 2001 and fifth in 2009. Pakistan have also twice been part of the tournament, it in 2009 and finishing with Bronze in 2011.
India will face Bangladesh in the final on Friday . India faced a tough competition from Bangladesh in the opening game of the tournament and lost by 4-5 in what was arguably the most exciting match played yet. Brushing off that loss, they defeated Oman 11-0 to take their first points of the competition.
