54-Year-Old Person Made His Own Craft
Disobeying the laws and regulations by self made flying objects have become a new trend now a days, also the new trend is become a part of this world. Some days ago, a 54-year-old man from Idukki, Kerala designed a two seater ultralight aircraft and made it himself.
D Sadasivan made his own aircraft from used and recycled materials and received a place in the record books. He studied till class 10th and now he is running an engineering workshop. He made a chopper on his own and presented to the world. The chopper was presented in front of the students of private school in Kanjirappally.
He took 4 years to make his home-made aircraft and now he has completed it for the first test flight which will be conducted soon in the next month. He used a Maruti 800 engine and a reduction gear box to make his chopper aircraft. He also used a glass of an auto rickshaw for the windscreen.
“I began to build the chopper after the school principal requested me to do so. In fact, he wanted me to build only a model of a helicopter to keep it the school. I thought why not make a fully-operational one,” said Sadasivan.
His daughter is studying at the same school. “The chopper’s interior is made of iron and the exterior of aluminium,” he added. “I need to get clearance from various agencies for permission to fly. However, before that I can fly the chopper within the limits of the property I own,” he said.
