New York’s Eleven Madison Park located on Madison Square Park topped the list of World’s 50 Best Restaurants on Wednesday. From being at the third place last year, the restaurant’s creative tasting menu and gracious hospitality has overtaken Italy’s Osteria Francescana and Spain’s El Celler de Can Roca.
“We get to help people celebrate some of the most important moments in their lives or give them the grace to forget something for a moment,” said co-owner Will Guidara on receiving the top gong with Swiss-born chef Daniel Humm.
“Guidara and Humm enhance the fine-dining experience with a sense of fun, blurring the line between the kitchen and the dining room,” the academy said, adding, “The restaurant’s multi-course seasonal tasting menu celebrates the city’s rich history and culinary traditions.”
Eleven Madison Park has eight-to-ten course meal with communal dishes as well as individual choices. The price of the menu is $295 per guest (Rs19,172). It is well known for Daniel Humm’s signature Celery Root Cooked in a Pig’s Bladder.
