Famous Detective “Joe Mannix” Dies At 91

Mike Connors, who played the famous role of a tall, handsome detective in the popular TV Series is no more. The actor was admitted to Tarzana hospital and was suffering from Leukemia. The disease was diagnosed a week earlier as told by his Son in law, Mike Condon.
Mike played the role of “Mannix” for eight years on CBS beginning in 1967. Mannix was largely popular as people were fiercely curios to know about the fascinating personality of detective. Mannix was tall, well dressed and well spoken detective, who use to get emotionally attached to the cases unlike other private investigators, who use to be hard-nosed and emotionless.
Connors was then starred in another TV series that lasted for one year-‘Tightrope!’ and ‘Today’s FBI’. In “Two and a half Men”, he played as a guest appearance.
Connors served in the Air Force during World War ll and also played basketball at the University of California. His basketball nickname was “Touch” that’s why he appeared with Touch Connors On screen but later he changed it to Michael and later to Mike.
