Indians Are Banned At These 5 Places In India!
‘Foreigner’s Only’ beaches in Goa
Goa is probably the most frequented tourist destination in India. Which is why it’s no surprise that Goa too has its own share of discriminatory establishments and beaches. Many shack owners try to weasel out a reason by claiming Indians tend to be lewd and loud. Something apparently foreigners are completely incapable of!
Free Kasol Café, Kasol
Obviously this one tops the list. What isn’t obvious though is how an establishment that calls itself “Free Kasol” and has a thriving hippie/free- spirit culture also has an arcane and discriminatory rule like this!
Uno-In Hotel, Bangalore
Set up in association with Nippon Infrastructure to cater to the growing influx of Japanese expats in the city. It came under the scanner when several reports emerged of the hotel staff not permitting Indians to the rooftop restaurant. The hotel has now been shut down by the Greater Bangalore City corporation on charges of racial discrimination
‘Foreigner’s Only’ beaches in Pondicherry
Pondicherry is another favored destination for foreigners who come to India. It’s pristine beaches flanked by wonderful French and Portuguese architecture gives it its mass appeal. However, Pondicherry has many beaches that are exclusively maintained for foreign tourists and completely discourage Indians from visiting.
A certain lodge in Chennai (name withheld)
We came across this story on the Deccan Herald . Although the hotel has been given the pseudonym of Highlands, we believe it may refer to the Broadlands Lodge in Triplicane. A former Nawab’s residence, the hotel only serves customers who possess a foreign passport.
