Karnataka Govt. Grant Rs.10 Crore To Agriculture Innovation Startups
The Karnataka government is prepared to allocate rs. 10 crore for agriculture startups in May. “The government has been and will assist startups in agri space with series A and B funding by connecting them to investors,” IT and Tourism Minister Priyank Kharge said at the National Trade Fair Organic and Millet 2017’here.
A budget of Rs. 10 crore will be allocated for agriculture innovation and startups in May to selected startups, he said.
Proof of Concept Grant Scheme is only in the Karnataka state under which governments target to issue up to Rs. 50 lakh to work with various stake holders to create ideation and incubation and also as a part of its multi sectoral startup policy.
Recently in eight startups in tourism space government had funded Rs.2.5 crore, the minister said.
Karnataka a is the only state where in case a company not eligible for innovation funding, to support them with a dedicate agrifund and also provides food processing funding
