Professional Skateboarder Dylan Rieder Has Died Aged 28
Dylan Rieder, a prominent professional skateboarder and model from Westminster, has died at age 28 due to complications from leukemia, Rolling Stone magazine reported on its website Wednesday.
Known for his effortless and graceful style, strength and memorable video appearances, Rieder influenced a generation of skateboarders.
Shortly after the news of his death broke, his peers took to social media to mourn him.
Gary Rogers, Skateline host, tweeted: “Got the worst phone call this morning rip Dylan Rieder.”
Rieder, who grew up in Westminster, California, began skating before he reached his teens. By the time he turned 18 he went pro for Alien Workshop. He was a favorite son in the industry.
Rieder was also a succesful model. In 2014, he was featured in Vogue Magazine and a DKNY ad campaign, Rolling Stone said.
