Vienna Again Ranked World’s Nicest City, Baghdad Is The Worst
The grand capital of Austria, Vienna lies at east side of the country on Danube river again considered as the World’s Nicest City. The city has topped consulting firm Mercer’s list of cities. It offers the highest quality of lifestyle for the eighth year in a row, while Iraq’s Capital Baghdad is again considered as the worst city for living.
The survey of 231 cities helps companies and firms to determine compensation and hardship allowances for international staff. It uses a group of criteria such as political stability, health care, education, crime, recreation and transport.
The 1.8 million people of Vienna get benefits from the city’s culture and museums, theatres and operas. Zurich in Switzerland, Auckland in New Zealand, Munich in Germany, Vancouver in Canada followed Vienna, Austria in the top five of most pleasant cities.
Global centres like London, Paris, Tokyo and New York City did not even make top 30th position and failed to keep their place behind German, Scandinavian, Canadian, New Zealand and Australian cities. Apart from that Singapore was the highest ranked City of Asia at 25th position.
San Francisco, California was at 29th position with the highest entry of United States. South Africa’s Durban is at 87th position and in the top of the list in Africa’s countries.
According to consulting group, Iraq’s capital Baghdad is considered as the worst city in the world. Baghdad is at the bottom of the list along with Bangui, Central African Republic and Port-au-Prince, capital of Haiti. During the month of February, the city saw 57 violent incidents including 31 car bombs, a report by AFP said.
