Now if your E-wallet’s password is same as your e-mail password, you need to separate them first. Don’t save your passwords in a document on phone or neither in the contacts. If you’re not good with remembering passwords, you can use password manager apps for the same.

One must sign out the e-wallet apps every time after use. There is a sign-out option in the profile area. Though the app automatically signs you in after the first login, but to keep the wallet safe, one must logout the app after use. If not this, you should keep the apps locked in the phone using an app lock application from the app store. So even though someone grabs your phone, they won’t be able to use the e-wallets without the password.
- Download Apps from Secured Sources
This is for the android users, that the apps must be downloaded from secured sources. It may be any app, an e-wallet app, a shopping app or any other app, stop downloading apps from internet and use Play Store. The apps on internet often have malware or viruses that can easily collect user information from the phone. Though the apps on play store are expensive, but the price is what you pay for security. Another option for the same is downloading apps directly from the official websites.
- Avoid Using Public Computers
To make any sort of online transaction, one must avoid using public computers or someone else’s tablet or phone. Also it is recommended to do such transaction over a protected WiFi that should have a protected password. Don’t use public WiFi as those are unsafe and unsecured.
- Ignore Emails or Messages Asking for Confidential Information
It is being regulated by every bank and websites that “Don’t share bank account, credit card or debit card details with anyone in email or phone call. Bank officials never ask for your account details in e-mail or phone.” If you’re getting any promotional mails from any third party website or vendor asking for your confidential information, ignore those as they are spam. Any email or message offering lucrative lottery or contest winning should also be ignored.
- Online Buyers, Buy From Reputed Merchants
The people who are used to buy from online websites, must know the importance of buying from reputed merchant websites, this ensures the buyer’s security. There are n number of shopping websites on internet, but one must check the essential certifications credentials before shopping. Don’t forget to check the privacy policy as some companies ask you to share the contact details and other secured data which can later be leaked.
- Check the SMS and Email Alerts
Don’t forget to subscribe message and email alerts. This will notify you once the financial transaction gets completed. It include of all the details of the vendor, the payment made and the confirmation of whether the money is received to the vendors or not. It is recommended that the users must review their bank statements regularly for checking all the entries.
