All new Innova Crysta Brochure Leaked
The Toyota Innova is the car that has changed the face of the MPV segment in India. However, it hasn’t quite received a substantial update in almost a decade. And that is one of the prime reasons why there is already so much hype around its soon to be launched successor, the Innova Crysta.
After a successful stint of over a decade, Toyota Innova is now all set to get the a much-awaited revamp on 2nd May. Carrying the ‘Crysta’ suffix with its name, it will be the first major update for the successful MPV since its inception.
Last week, a table revealed the technical specifications of the Toyota Innova Crysta. And now, a leaked brochure discloses the key features on the car.
The Toyota Innova Crysta made its public debut in India at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in February. Wearing an all-new design, the Crysta looks a lot more sporty and edgy than the outgoing Innova.
Some of the first-in-class features that the Innova Crysta will come with :
- LED projector headlamps,
- Automatic climate control at the front as well as at the back,
- Keyless entry with button start,
- 7-inch touch screen infotainment with navigation,
- One-touch tumble, and
- Two ‘Power’ and ‘Eco’ driving modes.
On the safety front, the car is equipped with seven Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbags with vehicle stability control and hill-start assist control. Such attributes were enough for the Crysta to score a 4-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries) crash test. This is certainly good news since Indian cars have the unfortunate reputation of being unsafe.
The Innova Crysta is longer, wider and taller than the outgoing model, measuring 4735mm in length, 1830mm in width and 1795mm in height. At 2750mm, the wheelbase of the both models remains identical.
Under the hood, the Innova Crysta will come with two diesel engines – a 2.4-litre and a 2.8-litre unit. Both these engines are four-cylinder turbocharged units, but are different in terms of output. The 2.4-litre unit pumps 149PS and 343Nm and comes mated to a manual transmission. The larger 2.8-litre unit will only come mated to an automatic transmission and will churn out 174PS and 360Nm.
As in the case of the outgoing model, customers can choose between the seven- and eight-seater options for the Crysta.
The Innova Crysta is all set to launch on 2 May 2016 and the leaked features have further raised our curiosity. Toyota has ensured that the Innova Crysta is an improvement on the Innova in more ways than one. When introduced, the car will compete with Tata’s to-be-launched Hexa, and price will certainly be a major factor in deciding the winner (in terms of sales).
