We Got a Bronze, a Silver Now It’s Time For Gold from Yogeshwar Dutt
Finally the last day of the Rio Olympic has come and there will be 12 events across eight disciplines on the final day at Rio. Out of the 118 Indian athletes who set out for Rio de Janeiro over a fortnight ago, only four remain.we expected to win 10-12 medals, but unfortunately we are currently at 64th place overall in the medals tally, with a silver and a bronze thanks to PV Sindhu and Sakshi Malik .
Thought there will be lots of action happening at the ladt day but for India all eyes will be one last man standing for India Yogeshwar Dutt. The 127th athlete in India’s contingent, will have his shot at a medal in Rio on Sunday when he takes the mat in the 65kg category.
Dutt had surprised everyone with his 60kg freestyle bronze at the London Olympics four years ago, but winning a second medal is a little more difficult that winning it for the first time and there is a lot of expectation from him . Yogeshwar will be in for a challenging task when he faces world champion Frank Chamizo of Italy and Russia’s Soslan Ramonov on Sunday.
As the whole of India will be praying for Dutt here is Two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar wishing Yogeshwar. “We have been friends since childhood. All my best wishes are with Yogeshwar. I hope he wins the gold medal. The entire nation is standing behind him,”
Well we hope he makes all of us proud and ends our Rio campaign with some good news.
