Written and directed by Deol, Produced by Dharmendra , Ghayal once again has hit the near theatres. The film features Soha Ali Khan, Tisca Chopra, Om Puri, and Sunny Deol in important roles. This film marks the debut of the four teenagers – Rishabh Arora, Shivam Patil, Daina Khan and Anchal Munjal. ‘Ghayal Once Again’ continues the story of the 1990 super-hit film ‘Ghayal’. The ultimate ‘macho-man’ of Bollywood, Sunny Deol is back to direction after a gap of 17 years. It’s the second time the actor will be helming a movie, the first one being ‘Dillagi’.
The film’s script is reportedly based on real-life incidents. Having spent 14 years in jail, Ajay Mehra (Sunny) comes out disturbed and takes on corruption again. He starts a newspaper called Satyakam and tries to overcome the haunting trauma of losing his loved ones. He manages to make a credible name for himself in investigative journalism, as an encounter specialist. Working with RTI activists and Sunny Deol knows that his forte is action and sticks to it. He proves that he still is the angry young man as he bashes the baddies to a pulp. Single-handedly seems to be the keyword for him. Talking about the story, Sunny said, “Change is inevitable in the society and that’s what I want to show through my film. How children of 16 and 17 years step into the society and that’s when the change starts.”
Four blameless adolescents get stuck in an unfortunate situation as a result of their activities and then the world gets to be slender on them. These fantastic four who happened to have received bravery medals from Ajay once, are now undermined, pestered and he’s the one man who can spare them. What happens is that these four friends accidentally record a murder on their camera. The footages turns out to be exclusive as it clearly shows two of the city’s most powerful peoples involved in the murder; and then follows a number of twists and turns as the four kids get entangled. Assisted by his four disciples, Ajay targets the white-collar corruption and takes it on through RTI’s but fails to reach his goal. Will Ajay Mehra be able to save them? How he takes down the evil powers, forms the crux of the story.
The music of the film is given by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and the lyrics are penned down by Amitabh Bhattacharya. It has only two songs. Lapak Jhapak, sung by Yashita Sharma, Siddharth Mahadevan and Armaan Malik is a catchy song. It is more of a youth song and the lyrics play a great role making it sound cooler. The youngsters look very enthusiastic in this song and one can easily catch up this tune. Khuda hai tere andar, is quite an intense yet energetic song crooned by Arijit Singh. This song makes one realize the power and potential he/she has within herself. The album is small yet impressive. The songs perfectly suit the visuals and situation in the videos.
The new ‘Ghayal’ we will be seeing Sunny combating his enemies not only with his ‘dhai kilo ka hath’ but also in some racy, modern, car fight sequences. There are some cool action stunts and the background score seem equally gripping. It is entertaining and has thrills which will keep the audience glued to its seats. Filled with superb punch dialogues, locations, a decent screenplay and well designed action scenes , this is a film for all segments. The audience is likely to get a glimpse of his ‘dhaai kilo ka haath’ days.
