NASA Designed ‘Mars Rover’ to Hunt Aliens on Mars
NASA unveiled its Mars Rover at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. It looks like the Batmobile but its agenda is different. NASA has been into developing this mars rover since 2016.
- The vehicle has 6 wheels and is entirely made up of carbon fiber and aluminum. It works on solar energy and thus there’s no worry about it running out of juice.
- It even has a detachable lab, to that the passengers could conduct experiments during exploring.
- The front area of the rover is for scouting and is equipped with radio and navigations by Global Positioning System. The back is a laboratory that can be disconnected for autonomous research.
- Its allows a sitting of 4 astronauts.
- Wheels are 50 inches (1.3m) tall and 30 inches (75cm) wide. The vehicle is 28 feet (8.5m) long, 13 feet (4m) wide and 11 feet (3.4m) tall. It weights around 5,000 pounds (2,250kg).
“While this exact rover is not expected to operate on Mars, one or more of its elements could make its way into a rover astronauts will drive on the Red Planet.” NASA says. The rover will not roll across the mars but it is to inspire space buggies of future. It is currently on a tour across US for the NASA’s educational event called Summer of Mars.
“It’s an all-encompassing effort to review the history of our efforts to explore Mars and look ahead to what is being planned,” says Rebecca Shireman, Assistant Manager of Public Relations for the Kennedy Visitor Complex. “We hope this will encourage young people to want to learn more about being a part of the effort to go to Mars,” she added.
