The Season’s Most Expensive Ganesha Made in Thailand
There is another feather on cap for Ranka Jewelers because they made the most expensive season’s Ganesha and made name in world Guinness world record in 2013 by manufacturing a shirt made of gold weighing 3.33kg. And the jewelers have constructed one-of-its-kind 4.5-5 foot tall Ganpati idol byusing 400 grams of gold. The Rs 16.45-lakh statue is kept at the Ranka Jewellers’ Chinchwad outlet. It resembles Mumbai’s famous Lalbaugcha Raja.
The idol was manufactured in Thailand as the artistes the country has seasoned veterans working with the technology. The idol is not made up of solid gold as it might take up to 10 kgs of metal. It is hollow from the inside and the gold is layered upon the fibre so finely that it gels with the idol and forms a coating that can never be removed.
