Students can re-apply for admission without withdrawing at DU
Though the admissions of 2016 has come to an end with the fifth cut –off list being the last one. However, there are a few vacant seats at various colleges of the Delhi University. After the final cut-off list, the colleges were asked to fill up vacant seats by making a merit list. According the DU admission rules, students who have already taken admissions in Delhi University colleges can re-apply at the institutions that have vacant seats without withdrawing the previous admission.
The admissions process for the left-over vacant seats under the merit list began yesterday, July 25, 2016. Earlier, students who had taken admission in colleges realised they could not re-apply until the earlier admission rule. Parents and students met the Dean Students Welfare (DSW) and objected to the rule. The university admission committee called for an emergency meeting and took a decision that students should be allowed to apply without withdrawing admission.
