After leak and CID investigation of Telangana question paper were leaked of engineering, agriculture and medical common entrance test EAMCET-2nd has been cancelled by the Telangana government Director General of Police Anurag Sharma placed the CID report before Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, who directed the test to be annulled and fresh test be conducted.
Telangana CID today made a crucial arrest in connection with leak. Cops arrested 52-year-old Shaik Raheem alias Ramesh from the city outskirts. The CID has already arrested four persons for their involvement in leaking the question papers of EAMCET that was held on July 9. CID officials said that the mastermind was R G Rajagopala Reddy who was also involved in a question paper leak case earlier.
JNTU lodged a complaint with Director General of Police Anurag Sharma who handed over the investigation to the CID on July 20. After interrogating two students — a boy and a girl — who scored ranks beyond 10,000 in EAMCET-I but were ranked within the first 100 in EAMCET-II, cops arrested Rajagopal Reddy and two of his associates. CID officers then started analyzing their mobile call data records and found that they had called several times to mobile numbers given by students as contacts at the time of filling application forms, and also found their parents’ numbers.
Based on these numbers, the CID ascertained that the question paper was leaked to at least 69 students. “We now know that parents of several students who got the leaked paper were also in touch with other which means all of them knew about the leak and were in hand in glove. The question paper either leaked at the printing press in New Delhi or at JNTU. Three sets of question papers are prepared but only one is finalized and released hours before the exam but Reddy got all three question papers,” the official said.
