Yu Yunicorn Launched In India at Rs 12,999
Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures has launched its newest flagship smartphone, the Yunicorn. The metal-bodied smartphone has been given an introductory price of Rs. 12,999, and will be initially exclusively available via Flipkart for a month, with registrations opening 2pm Tuesday for the first sale on June 7. After a month, it will be priced at Rs. 14,999.
Processor: The Yunicorn sports MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor with speed of 1.8GHz. This processor has two different bunch of cores. Four of these cores run at a speed of 1.8GHz while the other four run at 1.4GHz.
RAM: The phone is backed with 4GB RAM. YU has said that this is low-power RAM and hence will help users save battery. It uses up to 30 per cent less power, says the company.
Internal storage: The Yunicorn has 32GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card.
Display: 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1080p) resolution. The display, according to YU, has a brightness of 450nits and the contrast ratio of 1000:1.
Rear camera: The phone has a 13MP camera on the back.
Front camera: The Yunicorn carries a 5MP front camera.
Software: The phone runs Steroids OS, which is modified Android Lollipop. The company promises to update the OS regularly.
Battery: The Yunicorn is powered by a 4000mAh battery.
The smartphone will be available in Rush Silver, Graphite, and Rush Gold colour variants, though the last will be available in limited quantities for the first few sales.
