Agastya Jaiswal, the first boy from Telangana to appear the second year intermediate (Class XII) examination at the age of 11. He completed his SSC (Class X) when he was 9. Agastya Jaiswal will write the exam at Sri Chaitanya Junior Kalasala in Jubilee Hills.
Not only Agastya, his elder sister Naina Jaiswal has also created history by being the youngest sportsperson enrolled for PhD at the age of 16. She completed her Masters Degree in Political Science when she was 15 from Osmania University.
Agastya’s father Ashwani Kumar said, “Both, my daughter and son, have been extremely good at their academics, learning ahead of time. Even my wife and I were meritorious so it helped both of them. At the age of two, Agastya was answering more than 300 questions related to general knowledge.”
Though the minimum age for appearing for SSC Class X exams is 14 but the officials said Agastya was allowed as an exceptional case by the new government to encourage child prodigies.
