A former employee of snapchat alleged that Chief executive officer of snapchat Evan Spiegel was disinterested to expand their business in “poor countries” like India and Spain. Anthony Pompilano as saying that ceo Spiegel told him in a meeting that this app is “only for rich people”, which has lead to severe backlash in India.
According to the reports, Mr. Pompilano has also worked in the tech giant facebook-was in a meeting with Snapchat CEO Spiegel to discuss ideas for global outreach and tremendous growth of application and abruptly interrupted by CEO Spiegel.
“This app is only for the rich people not for the poor”. I don’t want to expand it in poor countries like India and Spain. Mr. Spiegel reportedly told to Mr. Pompilano.
In case of mistaken identity, many people uninstall the e-commerce website snap deal instead of social networking application snapchat to show their protest against the statement of CEO Evan Spiegel. Along with that many users also went to differentiate between snapchat and snapdeal.
Snapdeal has faced the similar downgrade in 2105 when –brand ambassador Amir Khan made a comment on growing “intolerance in India”
