A sex education textbook for primary school students has started controversy in China among the parents. The book has visual explanations about reproductive organs and discussion about sexual abuse. The parents are arguing about the content of book. The contents are too illustrative for children of primary school.

The textbook has been introduced in the syllabus of several Chinese primary schools for discussions on the topic of sex and homosexuality. The book publisher protested against controversy that the material included in the textbook was carefully scrutinized by experts.

“Apart from teaching children how to protect themselves, the series also introduces sexual intercourse, the physical changes of puberty and tells children that homosexuality is normal”, the report said.

Many people who are supporting the book said, many children have to face sexual abuse and that is why they should be taught about this topic at an early stage. They said that teaching children how to recognize the situations of sexual abuse is very important.

When it comes about sex education, India mostly oppose to pursue it. As much as the utility of sex education in the world’s two most densely populated countries is concerned, China and India seriously need to make the sex education compulsory.
